Can LeafX Gutter Guards handle heavy rain?
Yes. Our gutter guards are designed to handle 14+ inches of rain per hour.
How many inches per hour will LeafX® handle?
We have tested the panels to handle at least 12” of rain in an hour. We stop there because, in reality, anything beyond several inches of rain in an hour would be truly catastrophic. Be wary of competitors that claim to handle ridiculous amounts of rainfall. Some will try to use huge numbers to lure you to focus on a product that may have serious deficiencies.
Will it work on roofs with steep pitches?
The Flex Drain allows LeafX® to adjust to any roof pitch. Standard LeafX® panels will work on any roof up to a 16/12 pitch. For any steeper pitches, special high water flow panels can be used.
What is LeafX made of?
Our gutter guards are made from 98% recycled aluminum and come with a lifetime warranty.
What kind of warranty does the LeafX® gutter protection system have?
We offer a full lifetime warranty that guarantees that your gutters will never clog again. In the rare event that they do clog, we’ll pay to have someone clean them for free.
Can I install the gutter covers myself?
The only way we are able to honor our no clog guarantee is to have our authorized LeafX® installation professionals handle all of the installation work.
Will squirrels and birds still be able to make homes in my gutters?
No. Our design allows water through but prevents pests from building nests.
Is LeafX® nailed or screwed into the roof or fascia?
No. LeafX® slides under the first row of shingles and is attached to the lip of the gutter with stainless steel screws.
Will LeafX® install over my existing gutters?
Yes. LeafX can be installed over existing gutters.
Will LeafX® change the appearance of my house?
The LeafX® design is low profile. This design, together with the 14 matching color options, is designed to enhance the look of your home, blend in with your roofline, and hide unsightly metal flashing.

Can LeafX prevent ice dams?
Because ice dams are caused by poor insulation and ventilation, our gutter guards can’t prevent them, but they can reduce the amount of ice buildup in your gutters, helping to reduce serious damage from split seams, loose hangers and disconnected gutters.
Will I be responsible for maintaining my GutterRx Gutter Guards?
Our gutter guards are designed to require very little, if any, maintenance.
Is LeafX® environmentally friendly ("green")?
Our plant that produces the aluminum sheets used to make LeafX® operates a state of the art, scrap based Mini-Mill. This allows us to make a product that contains 98% recycled material. Furthermore, all scrap metal produced in the formation of our gutter covers is also recycled again so that nothing is wasted. LeafX® is currently in the process of becoming officially certified as a green building product.
